Gladys P. Brumley, 83, of Senior Village, Riverside, died Thursday at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City, after a short illness. Services will begin at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the George L. Gay Funeral Home, with burial in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. Brumley was born March 5, 1909, in Fremont, Neb., daughter of Christ and Florence Dickerson Rasmussen. She married John Edgar "Ed" Brumley March 6, 1946, in Davenport. She attended schools in Omaha. She was a clerk at Currier residence hall at the University of Iowa. She lived at 440 3rd Avenue, Iowa City, from 1948 until 1976, later moving to Indian Lookout. In 1979 she moved to Riverside Senior Village in Riverside.

Survivors include two daughters, Beverly Smith of Omaha and Florence Haney of Cedar Rapids; two sons, John Brumley of Riverside and Jerry Brumley of Iowa City; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Her husband, John, one son, one sister, two brothers, and two grandchildren died earlier.
