He is survived by wife, Pamela S. (Shuffield) of West Lafayette,IN; sons, William(April) Rentschler of VA, Michael A. Rentschler of San Pedro, CA; daughters, Susanne (Robert) Steyer of Finley, OH, Brenda (Derek) Miller of Visaila, CA; brothers, Carl (Paula) Rentschler of
Rancho Palos Verdes, CA; sisters Gayle (Quentin) Dillinger of Porter, IN ; mother, Marietta Rentschler of Chesterton, IN; six grandchildren. Preceded in death by father, Gale Rentschler.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 28, 1999 at 1:00 P.M. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home with Rev. David Siefert officiating.
Interment Chesterton Cemetery, Chesterton, IN.
Visitation Thursday, May 27, 1999, from 2 to 8 p.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton,IN.
Mr. Rentschler was born in Michigan City,IN on June 20,1941. He was married April 19, 1986, in Michigan City IN to Pamela S. Shuffield. He was an English Professor at Purdue University. He had served in the U.S. Navy. Graduate of Chesterton High School Class of 1959, Graduate of I.U.Northwest, Graduate Valparaiso University and was working on Doctorite at Purdue University in West Lafayette.
Memorials to National Kidney Foundation of Indiana or American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
