Henry Louis Cross, the Painter, who Fell From a Ladder
Henry Louis Cross, aged 57 years, a painter and paperhanger, who fell from a ladder while at work at a residence last Wednesday, sustaining fractures of both arms and other injuries, died from the effects of his injuries this morning at 8:30 o'clock at his home, 1412 South Ohio Avenue.Mr. Cross since the accident had been conscious only for short periods at different intervals but on Sunday seemed more improved than at any time since his fall. He suffered a relapse early this morning and his vitality was insufficient to withstand its effects.Deceased was born in Pettis County, near Lamonte, and all his life was spent in and near Lamonte up to the time of his coming to Sedalia, about eighteen years ago, since which time he had resided here continuously.He was a member of the East Broadway Christian church; Sedalia camp No. 16, Woodmen of the World and besides his widow is survived by two daughters, Misses Roxie and Ruby Cross. A sister, Mrs. Fletcher Breeden and a brother, James Cross of Kansas City and another brother Jack Cross of Arkansas, also survive him.The funeral will be held at 2:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the family home., the Rev. R. L. Davidson, pastor of the First Baptist church to officiate. Interment will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
