Dennis Allen Braithwaite entered into rest surrounded by his loving family August 18, 2011, in Tucson, AZ.
He was born September 20, 1944, in Los Angeles, CA, to Frank Anthony Parenzin and Mildred Reva Thompson. He was later adopted by Jack Herbert Braithwaite.

Dennis, at the age of five, moved to Salt Lake City, UT with his mother and sister.

At age eleven, he moved to Vancouver, WA when his mother married Jack Braithwaite.

During his teenage summers, Dennis worked with the Forest Service in both Washington and Oregon. He graduated from Hudson Bay High School in 1962.

Dennis attended BYU for one year, then served an LDS mission in Lima, Peru for 2 ½ years.

He returned to BYU in 1966, where he majored in Music, Theater Arts and Education.

In 1967, he met the love of his life, Jeanene Romney. They dated for 9 months when Dennis received his letter from Uncle Sam. Avoiding a draft, Dennis entered for 3 years in the Army. He served in Viet Nam for 1 year, stationed in Pleiku, Viet Nam on the Cambodian border. Dennis was proud to serve his country. He returned from Viet Nam 5 days before he was sealed to Jeanene in the Mesa LDS Temple, January 17, 1970. He graduated from BYU in 1972, with a degree in Music Proficiency and Secondary Education. His first teaching job was in Terreton, ID. He later taught in Fredonia, AZ. Working for Romney Produce Company; he and Jeanene settled in Pima, AZ.

Dennis returned to teaching in Duncan, AZ and then in Ft. Thomas, AZ where he taught for 23 years.

Dennis was known for his musical abilities throughout Graham and Greenlee counties. He was proficient in both the piano and the organ and had a beautiful singing voice. He sang solos in" The Messiah" at Eastern Arizona College for 29 years.

Dennis served his community for 20 years as a volunteer fireman, became and EMT and IEMT, working for Kord's Ambulance and also worked in the emergency room at the Mount Graham Regional Medical Center. He worked as a dispatcher for the Graham County Sheriff's Dept. for some years. He briefly worked for David's Safford Funeral Home for Paul David before retiring. Dennis was a lifelong, faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in various capacities including Ward Executive Secretary, Primary Worker, Young Men's Secretary and many dedicated hours in music utilizing his talents. He most recently served in the Gila Valley Temple.
