CLIFFORD J. AKERS, 75, of Memphis, retired from the Navy, died of heart failure Tuesday at Methodist Healthcare-North. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Roller Family Funeral Home with burial in Memory Hill Gardens.
He was a member of Range Hill Baptist Church. Mr. Akers, the husband of Hazell Carter Akers for 55 years, also leaves a daughter, Reva Pampuro, and a son, M. Duane Akers, both of Memphis; a sister, Ruth Akers of Kingsport, Tenn., and three grandchildren.
The family requests that memorials be sent to the Epilepsy Foundation or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
