Born April 3, 1909, in Harmony, Minn., the daughter of Julius and Ellen (Madson) Bergan. Married Claire McKinney on Oct. 5, 1929; he died July 14, 1961. Married Frank Cassioppi on July 6, 1967; he died June 24, 1980. She worked for Chas. V. Weise Co. for 20 years, retiring in 1980.
Survivors include a daughter, Marion Mannino Ginestra of Rockford, grandchildren, Paulette Pena, James (Moana) Pena, Deena Pena, Gilbert (Laura) Pena, Mark Mannino and Christopher Mannino; eight great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandchild. Predeceased by her daughter, Betty Pena; brothers, Kermit and Fordes Bergan; and a son-in-law, Sal Mannino. Special gratitude to Shelly and all who cared for Thenora on the Blue Jay wing at River Bluff.
Service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 19, in Sundberg Funeral Home Ltd., 215 N. Sixth St., Rockford. Burial in Willwood Burial Park. Visitation from 10 a.m. to service time Tuesday in the funeral home. Memorials to the family.
