Primitive Baptist preacher and debater. C. H. Cayce is best known as the compiler of The Good Old Songs (1913; 40th edition 1997), a collection of hymns in seven-note shape notes, still in use in many Primitive Baptist churches, one of the best known "Stamps-Baxter" or "convention music" tune books. He started preaching at Greenfield, TN in 1890. He is listed in The Encyclopedia of Religious Debates by Tommy Thrasher. Debates:
