Abraham "Abram" Weems b. 1800 d. 1877

Family says he was married three times.

First marriage was to Polly Young on January 2, 1822. She was the daughter of John Young. She died young. They had one child.

1. Highlander (Hiley or Hila) Weems b. 1822 (she married John Sellers)

Second marriage was to Elizabeth Davis in 1827. Elizabeth was the daughter of Jesse Sr. and Sarah Davis. It is believed that Jesse built the house that Jim and Hazel Weems lived in off of the Baileyton Highway. Abraham and Elizabeth Davis had five children together.

1. William Weems b. 1829 (Was said that he worked president Lincoln's grave in Illinois. Married: ? One daughter - Kathy Weems (Thayer)
2. Nancy J. Weems b. 1833 (Was unmarried but adopted David Craft, son of Martha Weems (Craft). She died in 1891.
3. Sarah J. Weems b. 1836 (Married Joshua Linebaugh in 1857)
4. Martha Weems b. 1840 (Married William Craft in 1865)
5. Mary Ann "Polly" Weems b. c1842-1844 (Married Wiley Gardner) Their children were Gail, Emerson, John, Laura, Mary and Rebecca. Polly died in 1906.

Third marriage was to Catherine Elizabeth Wattenbarger Bowman in 1845. (She was previously married to Corneilus Bowman in 1842 and he died shortly thereafter. They had 11 children together.

1. Abraham "Abram" Lacy Weems Jr. b. 1846 (He married Nancy Malone in 1864. Their children: Hannah, Mollie, Charlie, John, U.T., Tine, and William) He died in 1890.
2. George P. Weems b. 1848 (He married Catherine Malone in 1869. Their children: W.D.C. "Dallas" Weems (1871-1957), Samuel Jackson "Sammie Weems (1874-1956)
3. Catherine Elizabeth Weems b. 1850 (She married Thomas Dodd in 1868. Their children: Tom Dodd, Anderson Dodd)
4. Margaret Weems b. 1853 (she married John Ragsdale. Their children: Bruce Ragsdale, Cora Ragsdale White)
5. Andrew J. Weems b. 1857 (He married Margaret Malone in 1878. Their children: William Harvey Weems, Mollie Weems (Hulse), Emma Weems (Chapman)
6. Thomas A. Weems b. 1859 (He married Margaret "Sis" Ragsdale in 1880. He was a twin to Eliza "Liza J" Weems.
7. Eliza "Liza J" Weems b. 1859 (She married Sam Malone in 1879. Their children: John, Kate, Vergie, Sam, Charlie Rankin (CR), Benjamin Frank, Marian, Nancy Jane)
8. Matilda Weems b. c1861-1862 (She married John (G.?) Malone. Their children: Jim Malone
9. John R. Weems b. 1863 (He married Mary A. Malone in 1883. Their children: Roy Weems (flu damaged his brain), John Abraham Wilbur Weems (lived in Kansas). John R. was killed in a saw accident close to the time Wilbur was born. He is buried at Wesley's Chapel. His wife was buried in Salem, Kansas.
10. David Weems b. 1868 (He died young in 1875)
11. James E. Weems b. 1870 (He married Mary E.L.A "Alice" Malone in 1886. Her second marriage was to Gilbert Brown and they moved to Kansas. James and Alice's children: J. Ott Weems b. 1889, John Russell Weems b. 1893, Mary Weems (Dalton)
