In the 1930 census she was listed as a "bean picker" at the grain elevator in Freeland. Also it listed her as divorced, but to my knowledge she never married. In her later years she was in a wheel chair and needed constant care. My Grandmother took care of this lady in her home for many years in her older years. They lived in the winter months in Emma's small house on Sixth Street (corner of Church St)in Freeland because it was easier to heat, and summer months they went out to my Grandma's farm on Pierce Rd.
