Julia Ann Zufelt was born on July 11, 1855 in Cedar Fort Utah, to Henry Zufelt and Julia Ann Dillabough. She is the 13th of 16 children. Her siblings are: Louisa May, Martin Vanorum, Bethia Elizabeth, Sally Ann, Harmon Jeremiah, Lewis Alonzo, David Sands, Joseph Moroni, Lamoni, Henry Almoran, Lemuel, Rueben Dillabough, Charles Franklin, Robert Orlando, and Richard Simeon.

Julia met and later married John Lorenzo Buchanan on January 11, 1875 in the Endowment House in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Julia and John had 14 Children named: Julia Ann, John Henry, Lorenzo Dow, Nora Louisa, George Franklin, Adaline, Luther, Rueben, Vetta, Delbert, Janetta, Maretta, Loraina, and Richard.

Julia passed away on April 30, 1938 in Delta, Lyman Utah. She was buried at the Lyman Cemetery.
