Roger D. Saugstad
Passed away April 15, 2004 after a long and courageous battle with cancer at the age of 36. He is survived by his beloved wife, Christina: his cherished chilrden, Michael(10), Meredith(8) and Ryan (6): his parents, Maynard and Joyce Saustad, eight brothers, five sisters and extended family and friends.
Roger was born on Nov. 26th 1967 in West Allis, Wi. In 1986 he graduated from West Allis Central High School. He received his Bachelor's Degree in 1991 from Carroll College were he majored in Secondary Education with minors in Computer Science and Mathematics. His undergraduate program included a year of study in England. Following college, he taught Math at the West Milwaukee Middle School and coached girls varsity volleyball at West Allis Central. He also taught evening Computer classes at Carroll College. He continued his education at Cardinal Stritch College were he earned a Master's Degree in Computer Education in 2001.
Roger married his college sweetheart, Christina, on September 19, 1993. Together they created a lovely and loving home for their growing family. Roger was always involved with his children's endeavors - on the sidelines or the audience at every musical or athletic outing. He was an avid sports fan as well as an enthusiastic participant enjoying golf, softball and volleyball and the Packers.
During his illness, Roger hosted fund raising events for The American Cancer Society. Memorials to this cause would be appreciated.
Roger's life will be celebrated at the Greenfield Avenue Presbyterian Church in West Allis on Tuesday, April 20, 2004. Visitation will be from 4:00pm to 6:00pm and a Memorial Service will be held at 6:00pm with fellowship following.
