Doyle Wade Parrish 73 passed away at the Medicalodge Post Acute Care, May 11 2003.
Mr. Parrish was born to Thelma E. Clark Parrish & John M. Parrish on August 08, 1929 in South Park, KS.
Mr. Parrish attended Columbia Elementary,& Rosedale Jr. High.
Mr. Parrish worked for several bakeries for three years, then worked as a messenger boy for Missouri PAC Railroad & then forty years for Union Pacific Railroad as a switchman, & brakeman.
Mr. Parrish was united in holy matimony to his surviving wife of fifty-three years on September 17, 1950 at Wesley Chapel in Mound City, KS.
Mr. Parrish loved life, playing golf, traveling, fishing, & working in his yard.
Mr. Parrish was a member of the Bethel Freewill Baptist Church.
Mr. Parrish is preceded in death by both parents & one brother Charles Parrish & one Granddaughter Traci.
Mr. Parrish is survived by wife of home; two sons one & spouse of Phoenix, AZ; one & spouse of Shawnee, KS; three daughters; Susan M. (Parrish) Hamilton & spouse of Wheatland, CA; one & spouse of Bonner Springs, KS; one & spouse of Kansas City, MO; three brothers one & spouse of Overland Park, KS; one & spouse of Northland, CA; one & spouse of Slater, MO; three sisters one of Ottawa, KS; one & spouse of Wheatland, MO; one of AR; several grandchildren; two great- grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, friends & neighbors.
Funeral services will be at 2pm Friday, May 16 2003, at Maple Hills Funeral Home. Interment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Family & Friends may call 7-9pm Thursday at the Funeral Home.
