Frederick's naturalization came in 1856, and in the 1900 census, he lists his year of immigration as 1849 and he is in Wayne County as an apprentice blacksmith on the 1850 census.

We are in possession of Frederick Koehl's certificate of naturalization from the "King of Wurtemburgh". He also farmed for many years in Wayne County, New York.

Frederick was first married to Catharina Klippel, a German born lady who was 10 years older than Frederick. She died in 1883 and they apparently had no children. Frederick remarried Catherine Wagner in 1884.

Frederick and Catherine Wagner are my great-great grandparents, and they were the parents to my great-grandpa Albert Koehl.

Both of Frederick's wives are buried with him in Lyons.
