Elizabeth Borden Mersinger, wife of Earl Mersinger of Covelo passed away at the General Hospital in Ukiah. Mrs Mersinger, the daughter of the late Mr and Mrs B B Borden of Walnut Creek, was born Nov 28, 1881 in Gallup, New Mexico, and taught schools in New Mexico until her marriage to Thomas Drury. The young couple moved to California where Mr Druary died in 1920. She became the wife of Earl Mersinger 33 years ago. Mrs Mersinger was preceded in death by 2 sons, Milton and Herbert, and is survived by her husband, 2 daughters, Mrs Elmer Bauer of Covelo and Mrs Pat Maguire of Ukiah; 4 grand children, Don Bauer of Covelo, Mrs Jerry L Drewry of Bell Springs, Mrs Robert Reed of Lucerne and Robert Capell of Ukiah, and 6 great grandchildren. Mrs Charles Lovell of Covelo is a niece. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Ukiah and Lucerne.
