Donna Katherine Henderson, age 60, of Floydada passed away Sunday, August 21, 2011 in Lubbock. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday August 24, 2011 at the First Baptist Church. Interment is at 3 p.m. at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Paducah under the direction of Moore-Rose Funeral Home of Floydada. Family visitation will be held at First Baptist Church on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m.
Donna Katherine Diersing was born the daughter of Sylvester Diersing and Adeline (Jungman) Diersing on August 23, 1950 in Littlefield, Texas. She grew up in Pep, Texas and married Elvie "Bud" Henderson on February 12, 1971 in Lubbock. She was a member and very active in the First Baptist Church of Floydada. She worked for over 31 years in the Floydada Independent School District. But, her greatest love was her grandchildren.
Donna is survived by her loving husband of over 40 years, Bud; her two daughters, Heather Ingram and Holly Holmes along with their families; her grandchildren, Hannah Holmes, Jewlia and Cole Ingram; her mother, Adeline Diersing; and her sisters, Jan Alverson, Susan Bohanon, and Linda Bryant.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Leonard Diersing and her father Sylvester Diersing. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations be made to the First Baptist Church - Kid's Kamp, Hospice of Lubbock, or to a charity of your choice.
