DAY, Leo "Jim"
Jim was born on January 30, 1931 in Manteca CA and died peacefully in his Auburn CA home on November 26, 2014. He was married to his soulmate, Thelma, for 57 years prior to her passing in May 2009.

He was an incredible father to Sheryl Swenson of Cool, CA and Ronald Day of Katy, TX. He was adored by his 7 grandchildren: Melissa, Jessica, Leslie, Patrick, Kevin, Laurey and Calum. His four great-grandchildren were the loves of his life: Jesse, Presley, Jackson and Amber Lynn.

Jim began his career as a computer programmer for the Rocket Dyne Division of North American Aviation and Aerojet General from 1953 to 1963. After leaving the private sector, he became a professor and then the Director of Data Processing for Los Rios Community College. Jim was an easygoing, funny, friendly, fantastic man.

During his retirement, he enjoyed traveling and participating in several volunteer projects. For the last few years he lived at The Oaks of Auburn, where he enjoyed meeting new friends, eating their delicious meals and watching the 49er games with his daughter.

A Celebration of Life for Jim is being planned for the spring.
