Ackerson DECATUR - Edna C. Ackerson, 94, of Decatur, formerly of Lincoln, died 6:40 a.m. Monday (Aug. 23, 1999) in Decatur Memorial Hospital. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Holland & Barry Funeral Home, Lincoln, with the Rev. Larry Maffett officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery, Lincoln. Memorials: First United Methodist Church, Lincoln. Mrs. Ackerson was born in Clinton on Nov. 23, 1904, the daughter of Daniel M. Kemp and Hattie Horney. She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church, Lincoln. She married Harry C. Ackerson in Lincoln on Nov. 23, 1922. He preceded her in death on Jan. 23, 1995. Surviving are her daughter, Beverly Jean Boyer of Decatur; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; friend, Glenn Ingram of Decatur. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, Edna Mae Lakin, and three sisters.
