Robert died at East Idaho Regional Medical Center following lingering illness. He was born to George William Humpherys and Nellie Mae Thomas and grew up in Shelley. On January 5, 1939, he married Wilma Isabel Taylor in the Logan Temple. They lived in Blackfoot for 10 years, in Arco 4 years, and moved to Idaho Falls 50 years ago. He farmed and also was a clerk for Union Pacific Railroad, where he retired after 32 years service. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he held the office of High Priest and served in various callings throughout his life. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, camping, and especially loved to spend time with his family. Survivors beside Wilma included:
daughters Verna Mae [LaMont] Thorngren, Annis, ID, Martha Wilma Dole, Idaho Falls, Linda Rae [Dall Ray] Lake, Idaho Falls, and Gail Oswald, Boise; son Robert Eugene [Linda] Humpherys, Ammon; special daughter Tamera Kay Humpherys, Ammon; 19 grandchildren and 46 great grandchildren. Preceding were 20 siblings. Funeral Services held August 21 at Ammon 6th Ward, 2945 Selway, with First Counselor Cam Payne officiating.
