Vernon Eugene Beam, 81, of Lindsay, Oklahoma departed this earthly life on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at Grace Living Center in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Vernon was born on February 12th, 1930 in Cole, Oklahoma to Rex Henry Beam and Bernice Louise(McDaniel)Beam. He married Noval Sullins on July 1, 1975 in Gainesville, Texas.

Vernon served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was awarded two Bronze Stars. He worked as a carpenter and attended the Full Gospel Church in Dibble, Oklahoma. Vernon enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.

Mr. Beam is survived by his wife, Noval Beam of Lindsay, Oklahoma, his son Jimmie Beam and wife Debra of Lindsay, Oklahoma, one brother Dan Beam and wife Jo of Alex, Oklahoma, two sisters, Shirley Gray of Blanchard, Oklahoma and Janie Greenwood and husband Carl of Dibble, Oklahoma, two grandchildren; Christopher Beam of Lindsay, Oklahoma and Philip Beam of Moore, Oklahoma and two great-grandchildren; Lola Beam and Rubey Beam, both of Lindsay, Oklahoma.

Mr. Beam was preceded in death by both parents, Rex and Bernice Beam and one brother, Charles Beam.

Funeral services for Mr. Beam are set for ten o'clock a.m. on Tuesday, August 23rd, 2011 at Green Hill Cemetery in Lindsay, Oklahoma with Pastor John Hornbeck officiating and Rev.
