Funeral services for Albert C. Tubb, age 77, of Centerville are scheduled for 10 AM, Tuesday, August 23, 2011, at the Walters Funeral Home Chapel in Centerville. Rev. Dean Easterling, pastor of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Centerville, will officiate. The committal service will be at the New Salem Cemetery Chapel with burial following in the New Salem Cemetery. Visitation is set for Monday from noon until 8 PM at the funeral home with the Tubb family present from 6 PM until 8 PM to receive friends.

Albert Tubb was born December 19, 1933 in Centerview, Texas to George Benjamin and Mary (Matthews) Tubb. He was one of five children and grew up in Leon County. For most of his adult life, he worked as a pipeliner in the oil industry. His family remembers him as a devoted husband and daddy. He loved his kids, grandkids and great grandkids and loved spending lots of time with them. He was an avid fisherman and caught lots of fish at the "Lock & Dam" on Highway 7 where he owned and operated a bait house for years. He loved telling tales of his past at family get togethers. Albert died Friday evening, August 19, 2011 in a Crockett, Texas hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Willie Shanks; brothers, Charles Tubb and Elgin Tubb; a daughter, Patricia Tubb and a great granddaughter, Taylor.

Surviving family members include his wife, Sally Tubb of Centerville; sons, David Ricky Tubb and his wife, Debbie, of Glen Rock, Pennsylvania and Edward Tubb of Centerville; daughters, Elizabeth Vaculik and her husband, Michael, of Sugar Land, Texas and Cristy Rogers and her husband, Buddy, of Robbins, Texas; brother, Bennie Tubb of Centerville; sister, Alpha Dell O'Bannon of Centerville; six grandchildren, Bobby Edward Tubb (Amanda), Sylvia Calhoun (Poppa), Krista Voelker (John), Christopher James Crouch, Sarah Nicole Crouch and Connor Patricia Renee' Vaculik and four great grandchildren, McKenzie Tubb, Reese Tubb, Tyler Calhoun and Chesney Calhoun.
