It was during the first year of our sojourn in that place (Chatooga Co., Georgia) that Mary, my eldest daughter, became acquainted with Mr. Burnett, which after the lapse of near four years brought about their marriage which was solemnized on the 10th day of October, 1850. Mary had been blessed with the advantages of a religious training, many of its memorable consequences I suppose she has on record, her husband enrolled under the banner of the church in a few months after their marriage.
