Mrs. Elizabeth Bowers Johnson, 86, of 5416 Connecticutt Avenue, N. W., Washington, D. C., a native of Greene County, died at her home Monday, October 22, 1973, after a prolonged illness.
Mrs. Johnson, a daughter of Josephus Bowers and Josephine Fuller Bowers, was born in Whiteley Township and resided there during her early life. After teaching elementary school at East Waynesburg for several years, she moved to Washington, D. C., where she was employed for 33 years as a statistician in various government offices.
Surviving in addition to her husband, Orton A. Johnson, are a nephew, Charles Bowers, Kirby, and two nieces, Mrs. Addie Higgins, Kirby and Mrs. Evelyn Eslinger, Washington, D. C. A number of cousins also reside in Greene County.
