OBITUARY
The funeral for William "Bill" Thomas of Oakes, ND, will be on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, LaMoure, ND. Visitation will be held Thursday one hour prior to the service. The graveside service will be held Friday, August 26, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Holland Cemetery, Holland, MN.
William Cecil Thomas, son of William and Elsie (Weinkauf) Thomas was born December 7, 1930 in Pipestone County, Minnesota, where he grew up and attended school. He was united in marriage to Rhoda Knutson on November 5, 1950 at Elkton, South Dakota. Bill was a District Sales Manager for Gehl's Manufacturing until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, flying, and he especially loved spending time with his family.
Bill passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2011, at the Oakes Community Hospital, Oakes, North Dakota. He was 80 years old.
He is survived by his wife, Rhoda; three children, Wanda (Darrell) Howanitz, Orlando, FL, William (Glenna) Thomas, Deering, ND, and Mindy (Alan) Regynski, Sioux Falls, SD; one brother, Lorence (Alma) Thomas; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Erlene Heidebrink and Florence Tencate.
