Laura Ashbrook Strickler was the daughter of George Columbus and Malinda Katherine (Wood) Ashbrook. She was born February 15, 1878 at Kentontown, Kentucky and came with her parents by covered wagon to Missouri when she was 3 years old. She married Clarence Ray Strickler on December 25, 1904. She was survived by nieces Mrs. Larry (Marilyn Copeland) Riat of Abilene, Kansas; Mrs. Herbert (Margaret Copeland) Anderson of Chicago, Illinois; nephew Mervin Copeland of Fairfax, Virginia, nieces Mrs. Ray (Georgia Ashbrook) Harden of South Bend, Washington and Mrs. Dorothy (Ashbrook) Rupe of Chelalis, Washington, and a cousin, Mrs. C. E. McDonald of Quitman.
