Obituary in The Bienville Democrat April 1, 1948:

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Arcadia Baptist Church for Mrs. O.O. Hamner, widow of the late Dr. O.O. Hamner, who died at her home early Monday night. Services were conducted by Rev. Burton A. Miley, pastor of the Arcadia church. Interment was in the Mt. Lebanon Cemetery with funeral arrangements under the direction of Conger Funeral Home of Arcadia. Pallbearers were W.L. Hamner, J.O. Bryan, L.S. Hamner, Houston Hamner, Hardy Hamner, Leon Hamner, W.A. Bryan, and L.C. Stall.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Ethel Grier of Arcadia; one son, Buel Hamner of Monroe; and one grandson, W.O. Grier Jr. of Ruston. Mrs. Hamner, who was the former Miss Mamie Head, was a life-long resident of Bienville Parish. She was a member of the Baptist church.
