Connie Overstreet was the owner and operator of Overstreet Garage on Patterson Street in downtown Dallas for many years. It was a unique place in that it was a parking garage as well as a repair shop. Minor repairs such as oil changes, battery and tire replacement, etc. would be done while people were working. It was a multi-level garage which supported Connie and his family quite well for many years. His son, James Marvin Overstreet, worked there and took over the business when his dad retired. The photo of Connie and Hettie was taken at their home on Grove Hill Road, before the construction of I-30 caused it to be demolished. They owned several acres with a roping arena as Connie was into calf roping. When they were forced to move he had the beautiful barn moved as well for his horse "Chuck". They were a wonderful couple and are dearly missed.
