Josephine was born in La Grande, Oregon to Sabin and Etta Alexander on March 13, 1924 and lived most of her life in Oregon. In the early 1940's she had her own gospel singing radio show. She married Raymond Ridgeway in 1943 and had a son Robert Ridgeway and a daughter Mary Jo Milroy. Eleven years later she married Patrick J. O'Brien and had a son Kevin who preceded her in death at the age of 25. Josephine loved doing crossword puzzles, reading, singing, traveling and watching football. She was a member of the Sweet Adelines singing group.

She is survived by her son Robert Ridgeway of Lafayette, Oregon, daughter Mary Jo Milroy of Salem, sister Rosemary Gilson of Vancouver, Washington, 5 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

A memorial and celebration of life will be held Saturday, August 20th at 1pm at her son's home located at 1282 3rd #56 in Pioneer Mobile Home Estates, Lafayette, Oregon. Pastor Ron Smith will be officiating. A potluck luncheon will be served.

Josephine will remain alive in our hearts forever. Her love for Our Lord Jesus was an inspiration to us all. Her prayers at night were like angels singing as though she was already in the presence of Our Savior. We will all miss her laugh, her smile and her presence in our lives.

Interment was at Willamette National Cemetery, Portland, OR. Contributions can be made to the Henderson House in her name c/o Macy and Son Funeral Directors.
