Mary Elizabeth (Saylor) Spory, 86, Boswell, died Jan. 9, 2005, at Arbutus Park Manor. Born June 5, 1918, in Jenners Township, daughter of Edgar L. and Jennie (Blough) Saylor. Preceded in death by parents and sisters Anna Thomas, Reita Thomas and Wilma Sala. Survived by husband, Millard L. Spory, of 66 years and these children: Lois married to Stanford Alwine; Ernest, married to the former Lois Speigle; Louise, married to Dan Nofziger, Melvin married to the former Cathy Holsopple, Donna married to Milton Nofziger; and Paul "Pete," married to the former Evonne Alwine. Also survived by 19 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Sister of Merle Saylor and Erma Krusen. She was an active member of First Mennonite Church, Johnstown, and a former member of Headrick Mennonite and Thomas Mennonite Churches where she was involved in teaching and Ladies Missions Groups. She was also a member of Somerset County Farm Women Association and Somerset County Farmers Association. Mary spent many hours loving and caring for her family, neighbors and friends. Family receiving friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the George E. Mason Funeral Home Inc., Davidsville, and from 9 a.m. until time of service at 10 a.m. Saturday at Thomas Mennonite Church. Ron Spory, Todd Friesen and Patti Simonsick officiating. Interment Thomas Mennonite Cemetery.
