Bride of Six Months Succumbs to Typhoid Fever - Funeral Friday.
Mrs. Goldie F. Varner, a bride of six months, died at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Peter F. Miller, of Lee street, at 5 o'clock yesterday morning. Death ensued after a few weeks' illness with typhoid fever. Many of her friends did not know that Mrs. Varner was seriously ill, and the news of her death was therefore a greater shock to them. Her husband and parents are prostrated.
The deceased was aged 23 years and was married to Harley E. Varner of this city Aug. 4, 1907. She was a charming young woman, highly popular with all who came in contact with her, and the news of her death was cast a deep gloom over countless friends. She is survived by her parents, her husband, one brother, William P. Miller, and one sister, Miss Bernice. Funeral services over the remains will be held at 1:30 o'clock Friday afternoon from the Market Street Baptist church, Rev. Rolla E. Brown officiating. Interment will be made in Greenwood cemetery.
