Helen L. Hollenweger, 78, of Newport, died Friday, Oct. 8, 2010, at South Jersey Healthcare-Regional Medical Center. She had been a patient at the hospital for two weeks and had been in declining health for the past seven years.

Mrs. Hollenweger was born on Oct. 24, 1931, in Millville. She was the daughter of the late Clarence H. Morgan and Nellie Young Morgan and was the wife of the late Sherman G. Hollenweger.

A Newport resident most of her life, she was a member of the Newport United Methodist Church and a former member of the church choir. She enjoyed cooking and crocheting and was an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan.

Surviving are a son, Sherman G. Hollenweger Jr. of Newport; a daughter, Debbie Zadorozny (Jim) of Athens, Ga.; a grandson, Jesse J. Hollenweger; two granddaughters, Densie R. Crowe and Hannah G. Hollenweger; two brothers, Ralph Morgan (Mary) of Bridgeton and Herbert Morgan (Judy) of Virginia; and a sister, Joan Rhubart (Bill) of Newport. She was predeceased by two brothers, Allen and Clarence Morgan.

Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family at the Padgett Funeral Home, 160 Main St., Cedarville.

Burial will take place at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Cedarville.
