Elaine Kukuk of Shelby Township died on Sunday, August 14, 2011 at her home at the age of 64 years. Elaine was born March 3, 1947 in Mt. Clemens, a daughter of Frederick William and Linda Ida (nee Oehmke) Kassube.
Elaine was a graduate of Chippewa Valley High School.
On May 23, 1970, she married Larry J. Kukuk at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Macomb.
Elaine was a lifelong member at Immanuel Lutheran Church, where she was a former Sunday School teacher. Elaine had a real talent for remodeling whether she was at home or offering a helping hand to her family. In the garden or in the kitchen she was happy just to be surrounded by her loved ones. Elaine especially loved her trips down south visiting her sister, Donna and her family. Those trips always made her smile. She was so proud of her family and had a love and devotion to them that was an inspiration to everyone around her.
Elaine was the beloved wife of Larry; dearest mother of Tracy Szudarek and Tara (David) Hudson, all of Shelby Township; loving grandmother of Weston Robert Szudarek, whom she loved spending time with and was looking forward to the arrival of her new granddaughter, Jalynn Elaine Hudson in January; dear daughter-in-law of Hazel Kukuk; and cherished friend to all who knew her.
Everyone who knew her loved her and we stand so blessed to have had such a special person in our lives. Elaine will truly be missed.
She was predeceased by her parents, Frederick and Linda (nee Oehmke) Kassube and brothers, Marvin Kassube and Frederick Kassube and sister, Donna Roberts.
A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 18, 2011 at Immanuel Lutheran Church Worship Center, 47120 Romeo Plank, Macomb with the Rev. Michael J. Lutz officiating.
Burial will follow in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation is Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Hauss Funeral Home, 47477 Romeo Plank, Macomb and at church on Thursday from 10 a.m. to the 11 a.m. service.
