Ella Malmedal, longtime resident of West Seattle, died February 20, 2009 in Shelton, WA of natural causes at the age of 83. Ella was born May 5, 1925 in Labediville, LA to Edward and Margaret Blanchard. Ella was one of ten children and is survived today by her brothers Murphy Blanchard, Carol Blanchard and sisters Jeanne Blanchard and Leonora Blanchard Guidry. Ella is survived by her husband of 38 years Stan Malmedal, daughters Joanna Cahan Crabb, Rosanna Cahan McCoy and Leighanna Cahan Greshock. Ella was preceded in death by her daughters Dianna Cahan Mott and Roxanna Cahan Blyeu. Ella has 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Ella spent many years of her life learning to let go and let God, one day at a time and always found the the best in everything.
