Mrs. Daisy D. Abney, of S. Twelfth St., died at 6:30 p.m. yesterday at St. John's hospital, a few hours after she was admitted. Mrs. Abney had been ill for nearly three years. She was 73 years old. Mrs. Abney, the former Daisy D. Conner, was born in central Kentucky on Feb. 8, 1879, and was married to Edwin L. Abney, who survives. The couple moved to Illinois 56 years ago, residing in the Williamsville, Edinburg and Taylorville communities before moving to Springfield. Surviving, in addition to her husband are four sisters, Mrs. Cora Wathen, of Mt. Sherman, Ky.; Mrs. Carrie Skaggs, of city; Mrs. Iva Leiby, and Mrs. Edna Huston, both of Peoria, and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Ellinger & Kunz funeral home to time of services there tomorrow. Burial will be in Oak Ridge cemetery. - Illinois State Journal, Springfield, Il, 4-11-1952
