"EDWIN WITWER, EX-KAWNEER FIRM EXECUTIVE, DIES
NILES - Edwin C. Witwer, 79, of 2500 Weaver Road, Niles, formerly of South Bend, died Saturday in Pawating Hospital, after a lengthy illness. He was retired from the Kawneer Co., Inc. where he had served as secretary, treasurer, and board member.
Born on Jan. 26, 1904, in South Bend, he lived in the South Bend-Niles area all of his life. On April 3, 1926, in Evansville, Ind., he married the former Joy Bacon. She survives along with a daughter, Mrs. Robert Meyer of Lexington, Mo.; a son, Scott, of Niles; and a granddaughter.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Trinity Episcopal Church, Niles. Rev. Gerald Skillicorn will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, South Bend. Arrangements are being made by the Halbritter Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church in Niles."

Edwin's remains are interred to the south of the smaller Witwer monument and in front of the footstone for Edwin C. Witwer (d. 1921). There is no separate marker.
