SULLIVAN, MARY W; age 77; death place GREEN; residence GREEN; death date 02 Nov 1958; Volume 048, Certificate 23788
Mary William Coakley (1881-1958), grandmother of James Etsel Money, was the source of most of the Money family history learned by him before he became interested in this genealogy. She described to him the outlines of the 1,200 acres "owned and occupied" by James Money in the first years of the 1800s. She said James Money had a wife, Hepzibah, and daughter, Hepzibah, before he was married to Rebecca Noe.
She said the second James Money had been married to Mary Jane Fox and that he was older than she. When he died she took her two small sons back home to Clark county. She knew distant relatives lived in Shelby County, Kentucky.
She also enjoyed telling the story of Perry Money being hung from a tree limb by a roving band of Indians who tried to force him to reveal where his gold was buried.
Henrie Annas Money Coleman recalls her grandmother reminded her and her sisters on many, many occasions that "Beauty is as beauty does!"
