Albert E "Abe" Diel, 76, of Brazil passed away Friday am 4-27-2007, in Lakeland, FL. He was born 11-25-1930 in Dick Johnson Twp, the son of Dennie and Sarah Augusta
BIGGS DIEL.
He loved antiques, tinkering with old cars and he considered farming a hobby. He graduated from Staunton HS, class of 1948 and joined the US Marine Corps in 1951.
He served during the Korean War. He was a member of VFW 1693 in New Albany and American Legion Post 2 in Brazil. In 1992 he retired from Stu Moore Oil Corp.
He is survived by his loving
wife: Norma NEWBOLD WOODS-DIEL, whom he married 6-30-1979

3 daughters: Sheryl I DIEL, Nancy J BAUER and Debbie J BARNETT all of TH
1 step-son: Michael (Brenda) WOODS of Brazil
1 step-daughter: Debbie J (Mike) BARNETT of Rockville
1 brother: William "Bill" DIEL of Brazil
2 sisters: Emma Jean (Wm) TURNER of Trenton, KY and Josephine (Glen) WEBSTER of Mechanicsburg, IL
1 sister-in-law: Mildren Rittenhouse of Brazil

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 half brothers, Walter HIEL and Johnny RITTENHOUSE
Services will be 10 am Thursday at French Funeral Home, with Pastor Clarence Hauser officiating. Burial will follow at ST JOHN CEMETERY. Visitation will be 4-8 pm
Wed and again Thurs prior to services. Pallbearers will be Chad Anderson, Brian Diel, Jason WOODS, Justin BARNETT, Austin BAUER, Tyler BAUER, Shane BAUER, and Matthew ENNEN . In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the Abe Diel Memorial Fund through the Wabash Valley Community Foundation to benefit other dialysis patients.
