Canadice, N. Y. - Mrs. Lucinda Becker, aged 79, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. May McGinley, in Sparta, on November 20, 1931. Her life, which had been full of suffering, has been lived almost entirely in Canadice. About 34 years ago a malady attacked her, which in a short time deprived her of the use of her lower limbs, also causing her constant pain which she bore with much fortitude, always greeting you with a smile. Since the death of her husband, John Becker, who died in 1910, she had been tenderly cared for by her children. She is survived by three sons, Jay, of Canadice, Herbert of Dansville and Reed of Holcomb; two daughters, Mrs. May McGinley of Sparta, and Mrs. Belle Agard of Sparta; three sons died some years ago. Funeral services will be held at the church on Monday at 2:30 p.m., with a prayer at the home of Mrs. McGinley at 1 p.m. Burial in Canadice cemetery beside her husband."
