John Albert Oswald of Perham dies
Prominent Resident of Perham Dies from Bright's Disease and Heart Trouble

Perham, Wednesday, Feb. 26, 1930. John Albert Oswald, one of the early residents of this village, died at 3 AM, Wednesday morning, at his home. Mr. Oswald had been in failing health for over two years and a year ago was compelled to give up all activities. The cause of his death was Bright's dsease and heart trouble. He was 74 years of age January 21 and is survived by his wife, one son Dr. Eldred Clarence Oswald of Tacoma, Washington, and four daughters. Helen Seraphine (Mr. John Edgar Wasche) of Bluffton, Miss Gertrude Emma Oswald, teaching at Butte, Montana, Miss Eloise M. Oswald, teaching at Henrietta, Minnesota, and Miss Ruth Mary Oswald living at home. Mr. Oswald was formerly in the milling business in partnership with the late Henry Drahmann and his son, B. J. Drahmann, from which he retired several years ago. He won for himself many warm friends by his kindness and ever readiness to help in time of need. Funeral arragments have not been completed

Perham, Wednesday, March 5, 1930--The funeral of John A. Oswald took place Saturday morning, March 1, at 9:30 from St. Henry's church. The service was conducted by Rev. S. J. Schirmers, Rev. Snyers of Bluffton and Rev. Eisemann of Verndale. Members of the Knights of Columbus, Foresters, St. Henry's Aid and firemen attended in body. The pall bearers were J. B. Hemmelgarn, Ferdinand Boedigheimer, John Schornak, P. J. Fitzpatrick. Mike Durkin and Math Schroeder. Many old time friends came from neighboring towns to pay their last tribute of respect to the deceased and follow the remains to their last resting place,
