Mary Alice Curtis returned home peacefully to the loving arms of her husband Jack and her daughter Gaila on August 13, 2011.

Mary was born October 8, 1928 in Moore, Utah. She had one sister and three brothers. She was raised on a dairy farm and always knew the meaning of hard work. Her crowning glory was her beautiful red hair. She had a pleasant smile and loved to make other people happy.

Mary married Lyman Jack Curtis on August 11, 1947 in the Salt Lake Temple. She was the mother of 5 children, 3 girls and 2 boys. She had 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Mary and Jack lived in Orangeville where they owned a farm and cattle ranch. She had a special love for babies, animal and children alike. Her most important treasures in life were her family. She loved to have them gathered around her. Christmas and Easter were her favorite times. Family traditions were her life.

She has taught Primary and Scouts and she sang in the choir for many years. She had a beautiful alto voice. She was a wonderful artist and took lessons later in her life to learn to paint. She was a great cook; roast beef, gravy, and potato salad were her specialties. She enjoyed dancing, making crafts and decorating, sewing and making quilts. She especially liked the mountains in the fall with all the colors.

Mary is survived by her children Teresa (Ray) Jeffs, Gary (Kelli) Curtis, Curt (Monique) Curtis all of Orangeville and Leann (Rick) Snow of Castle Dale; also a sister Dora Lee Phillips, and brothers Afton (Merle) Albrechtsen, Ben (Nancy) Albrechtsen and a sister-in-law Clara Albrechtsen.

Also preceded in death by daughter-in-law, twin granddaughters, great-grandson, brother and brother-in-law.
