She was employed for many years by the Commissioner's Court of Tarrant County previous to her retirement. Mrs. McDaniel served as Worthy Matron of her chapter and was a grand page during her sixty plus years as a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was also a past president of Skyline Chapter of American Business Women's Association.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Harold R. McDaniel and her son, William R. "Bob" McDaniel.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Louisa and Charles Barton of Baytown; daughter-in-law, Jean McDaniel of Dickinson; six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 4 and 6/9 great-great-grandchildren.
A wake and celebration of Mrs. McDaniel's life will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2003 at 2 p.m. at 3607 Fleming Dr. in Baytown. Food will be served, so bring an appetite. According to her specific instructions, she has been cremated so that her ashes may be interred with her husband in Laurel Land in Fort Worth.
The family wishes to thank her friends who looked in on her daily and have been so supportive these last few months. Thanks also to her special nurses at Baytown Health Care and Rehabilitation Center and to the Odyssey Hospice care givers for their "TLC."
Anyone wishing to, should make a contribution to the Masonic Home and School in Ft. Worth, Texas in lieu of flowers.
