Deaths: Calais, 20 Dec 1892, Joseph M. Dyer, 79y 6m 7d (Eastport Sentinel, January 4, 1893)
Calais, Me. - The death of Joseph DYER removes another of our old citizens. As a school teacher in this city for a generation and a half, he was always highly respected. During the latter part of his life he was elected city clerk and remained in that position until age and feeble health compelled his resignation. For the last two years or more he has been too feeble to leave his home. He was buried in Calais cemetery beside his wife who had preceded him but a short time.(St. Croix Courier, December 29, 1892)
d. Boston, Mass., 15th April, of haemorrhage of thelungs, George E. DYER eldest s/o Joseph M. DYER, Calais, Maine, age 38.(Bay Pilot, May 1, 1884)
