Deceased Name: ASAY , LINDA RAMONA
Our dear Linda passed away suddenly, at her home of 44 years, from natural causes on December 31, 2009. She was born on December 17, 1924 in Hilo, Hawaii, the daughter of Georgina and Jose Correa. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Richard Asay and ten siblings. She is survived by her children, Georgia Wapnowski (Bob), Allan Asay (Kathy), five grandchildren Dana Berroth (Tim), Paul Wapnowski (Maria), Jeffrey Asay (Araceli), Maelin Wap-nowski, Erin Bernard (Brian), three great-grandchildren, Joshua Berroth, Peyton Berroth and Nicholas Asay, three step-grandchildren Keri, Dustin and Robby; sisters, Lucille Timas of Hawaii and Margie Williams of South Carolina, numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly, many friends and of course her dogs Maile and Summer. Linda was a sweet, generous, quick-wit of a woman who loved the Lord, loved her country, and absolutely loved and adored her family. She also was the neighborhood Grandma "hiring" the kids to do small chores around her house and readily had ice cream and other goodies to eat, along with a few dollars to hand out. Her pride was her yard which she kept immaculate, mowing it herself for many years as no one else could do it quite right. She was proud of her Portuguese heritage and often reminisced about her upbringing in Hawaii, she moved to the mainland in 1955 coming with her husband and children. She was a parishioner of St. Mary's where she sang in the choir for 35 years. Services will be on Saturday, January 16 , 2010, at 9:00 a.m, at St. Mary's Church, 8th & "D" Ave., National City. There will be a reception after the services at the VFW Hall, Third and I Street, Chula Vista. Private interment will be at a later date. Aloha Mom, you will be greatly missed but will live forever in our hearts.
