BELLEVILLE - Erskine E. "Ernie" Hewitt, 88, of Milroy, died at 1:55 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001, at Valley View Haven, Belleville. Born Oct. 23, 1913, in Warrensburg, NY, he was the son of the late Robert and Agnes (Combs) Hewitt. His wife, Phyllis McLaughlin, survives. Also surviving are: a daughter, Nancy Hewitt, MA; a sister, Barbara Gollands, NY; and three special children he was close to, Blayke, Hunter and Ty Narehood. He was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters. He was the Vice-President of Field Operations at Collinson Construction Company before retiring at age 73. He was a member of the Milroy United Methodist Church and American Legion Post #90, Lewistown. His funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Bert Bowen officiating. Interment will be in Church Hill Cemetery, Reedsville.
