SCOTT SMITH SUFFERS FATAL HEART ATTACK - - - Prominent Employee of Pen-Dixie Cement Corporation

W.(Winfield) Scott Smith, prominent employee of the Penn-Dixie Cement Corporation at their Richard City plant, died at his home there Tursday following a heart attack. He was 66 years of age.

Coming to Richard City as a young man, Smith made contact with the cement plant, then known as the Dixie Portland Cement Co., and since been employed there. He was active in labor circles.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Amanda Templeton/Smith, two sons, Clifford Smith of Dallas, Texas and Chester Smith of Bordentown, New Jersey; a daughter Mrs. Wilson Mitchell of Dixon, Tennessee and six grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. at the First Baptist church in Richard City on Saturday with the Rev. W. M. Maulding officiating. Interment followed in Cumberland View Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Jere Killian, Fred Grimes, Walter Pittman, Harvey Payne, Ray Lawson and Vance Barker.
