Woodrow Campbell Tabb and his wife were in South Africa during the Boer War. She was sent home to England to have their first child. The baby died on the return trip to South Africa, and was buried at sea. Woodrow Campbell Tabb was a manager for the York Refrigeration Company and introduced ice to South Africa. In later years, he worked in the Hampton area of Virginia.
