Elizabeth Allen Scott, 78, of Greenville died Thursday at a Quitman nursing home. Services are at 2 p.m. today at Peters Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Louise Welch officiating. Burial is in Tidwell Cemetery.

Born Oct. 19, 1924, in Smith County, she was the daughter of Charles Wesley and Martha McMillan Graham. In 1941 she was married to John R. Allen. Mr. Allen and their daughter died in 1953. She was married to Joe Dan Scott on May 18, 1963, in Dallas; he died in 1989.

Mrs. Scott retired from Ben Spurgin Insurance Company in Dallas. She was a member of Eastern Star 695 for more than 50 years, was a member of the Business and Professional Women’s Association and served as a Pink Lady in Greenville.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Quitman.

Survivors are nieces Martha King of Grand Saline and Nita Roberts of Quitman and several nieces and nephews and four stepchildren.

Mrs. Scott was also preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Pallbearers are Vernon King, Jamey Warrington, Bryan Etheridge, James Crawford and Gaynor McCord.
