Ane Breiland Succumbs at SK Homestead
A South Kitsap resident since 1920, Mrs. Ane Margaret Breiland died at her home near Colby yesterday after an extended illness. She was 80.
She and her family had lived on a farm at Port Orchard Rte 1, for 40 years. Following the death of her husband, Edwin, in 1947, she remained there with a son, Alfred, and a daughter, Lillie. Another son, Emil, makes his home in Port Orchard and a daughter, Ella Mikelson, is a South Colby resident.
Mrs. Breitland was born in Helgeland, Norway, and grew up there, coming to Seattle in 1910 to marry Edwin Breitland, a commercial fisherman. They remained in Seattle for ten years.
The Rev. Ralph Butler will officiate at services at 2 p.m. Monday at Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sunset Lane Cemetery.
