OGLETHORPE -- Funeral services for Bloney B. Hancock, 82, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, 2006, in Tabernacle Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Morningside Cemetery. The Rev. Joel Owens will officiate the services.

Mr. Hancock died Monday, July 31, 2006, in Peach Regional Medical Center in Ft. Valley.

Born Jan. 27, 1924, in Turner County, he was the son of the late Bennie W. Hancock and Margaret Elizabeth Moon Hancock. He had lived in Oglethorpe since 2001, having moved there from Wilcox County. He was a retired civil service employee from Robins Air Force Base and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Robert Hancock of Cordele; daughters, Mary Alice McDuffie of Rochelle, Reenie Charrier of Ellaville, Ida Lou Tuten of Waycross and Debra Ann Stubbs of Indiana; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
