RAYNHAM, MA - Elizabeth Oldis Probasco, 91, died on Friday in Massachusetts.
Born in Hopewell Township, she had been a resident of Dutch Neck, Princeton Junction and Whiting, NJ, before moving to Providence, R.I., in 2000 to be closer to her children and grandchildren.
Mrs. Probasco graduated from the William McKinley Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, Trenton, NJ, as a Registered Nurse, in 1945. She was a practicing nurse in the Princeton, NJ, area for 40 years and retired from NJ Neuropsychiatric Institute Skillman in 1985. She married the love of her life, R. Merton Probasco, on Feb. 8, 1947, at the Dutch Neck Presbyterian Church. She was an avid reader and loved trivia challenges and crossword puzzles. She leaves behind wonderful memories in the hearts of her family and friends.
Sister of the late Garrett Oldis and wife of the late R. Merton Probasco, she is survived by a son and his wife, Richard M. and Cheryl Probasco of Plymouth, MA.; two daughters, Grace P. Weil of Corning, NY and Susan M. Glein and her husband Lothar of Taunton, MA; and six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Blackwell Memorial Home, 21 North Main St., Pennington. Interment is in Ewing Church Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Doctors Without Borders or Habitat for Humanity.
