Funeral services are set for March 15 at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Havre for Garland H. Boone, who died in a local hospital on March 12. He was 68.
Born in Kahoka, Missouri, Jan. 24, 1906, Boone came to Billings in 1927 and worked for the Purity Bread Co., now the Sweetheart Bread Company, until 1944, when he moved to Havre. He worked as supervisor of Eddie's Bread in Havre and later became manager of the firm. He retired in 1968. Until 1973, he kept books for the Northern Manufacturing Co.
On Oct. 12, 1930, he married the former Olga E. Karhu, who survives him. Also surviving are sons, Tom of Tucson, Ariz., and Dan of Boise, Idaho; a daughter, Mrs. Janet Eckberg, Missoula; a sister, Mrs. Anna Smith, Miami Springs, Fla.; brothers, Ted of Kansas City, Kans., and Forrest of Rising Star, Texas; six grandchildren.
